Hosta Sum and Substance

The Hosta Sum and Substance, 'Hosta', has large, rounded leaves with heavy puckering. This Hosta is slug resistant and a vigorous grower. The lavender flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta'�s are not known for their flowers. With a plant height of 36'� and a spread of 60'�, Hosta'�s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta 'Sum and Substance'� needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained location. 'Sum and Substance'� does require some sun to enhance its golden color. 'Sum and Substance'� was named Hosta of the Year in 2004, and one can see why. The flowers are on 50'� scapes, making it one of a kind. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and is one of the most popular landscapeplants. A great choice for any beginner gardener.
